Sponsorship agency, Openfield has appointed Karen Barnard as account manager effective from 3 February.
With a degree in Project Management, Karen's skillset includes sponsorship strategy development and leveraging. An accomplished event management professional, Karen has worked on a number of high-profile events, including J&B Met Hospitality, Nelson Mandela Invitational Golf Day, and a range of sponsorship activation programmes, namely the Engen U18 National Basketball Club Championship, All Star Las Vegas Basketball Tour, US Coaches Tour South Africa, OB Beach Volleyball Tour, Engen Knockout Challenge U17 Tournament, Engen Dynamic Cycle Challenge and the Engen Charity Golf Day Her exceptional project management and client service skills led to a successful management of the Engen Santos FC Football Team Sponsorship and MasterCard Culinary, Wine and Music portfolio.
Her most recent position at the V&A Waterfront as event co-ordinator involved managing the Coca-Cola Partnership, client liaison and onsite activations and she also worked on various outdoor events around the property including the V&A New Year's Eve 2013 Party.
