The South African Chapters of SingularityU South Africa hosted the Discovery and Exponential Learning About the Future of Health ‘Summits' in Johannesburg and Cape Town last week. The ‘Summits' celebrate the bringing together of South African pioneers and leading experts in the health industry as part of its community-building strategy with SingularityU based at Nasa in Silicon Valley.
Kim Hulett, CEO of Next Biosciences, told us about “The future of medical science technologies”; Dr Musa Mhlanga, top geneticist, spoke about "The promise of precision medicine"; and Dr Ryan Noach, Deputy CEO of Discovery Health, discussed "Digital Healthcare: Consumers take the Reins of Healthcare".
The event was run and sponsored by Mann Made Media with a host of other sponsors including: Discovery, The Park on 7, Thirst, AV Unlimited, Brevity Law, Liberado, Memeburn and Magnesium Tech.
“Believing that we can all be change-makers by coming together and learning how the revolution through exponential technology in health is changing humanity forever drives us to bring people together to debate and engage in the industry. This is the beginning of a really exciting journey and South Africa is at a critical junction where we have to become part of the innovation narrative or get left behind,” explains Mic Mann.
