Guvon Hotels & Spas has announced the appointment of key personnel at The Fairway Hotel & Spa, at the Randpark Golf Course, which is due to open in May, 2010.

Christopher Timble
Christopher Trimble, most recently at the five-star Asmara Intercontinental Hotel in Eritrea, has been appointed as the GM for The Fairway Hotel. Trimble has more than 30 years of hospitality experience, starting as an assistant front office manager at the five-star Edward Hotel and working himself up over the years to GM of a number of leading hotels around the country.

His career spans some high profile units throughout South Africa and Mauritius including The St. Geran Hotel and Country Club, Cascades Hotel at Sun City, The Carlton Hotel and the Sandton Sun International Hotel.

All the right skills

“I believe that Christopher possesses all the right skills to develop The Fairway Hotel in the years to come. He brings valuable experience and a fresh perspective to the Guvon family and I am convinced he will take The Fairway to reach great success.” said Leon Bosch, Guvon Hotels operations director.

Other key personnel that have been appointed for The Fairway are Salome Knoetze, appointed as the rooms division manager and Warren Forster, appointed as head chef. Knoetze was previously involved with the opening of the four-star Holiday Inn Hotel in Sandton and Forster assisted with the opening of the first five-star hotel in the Limpopo province, the Fusion Boutique Hotel.
