Having been nominated recently to the position of President of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc), Irvin Khoza's decision to seek another term - unopposed - as PSL chairman is seen by many as a mistake, KickOff.com says.

Revelations by Sascoc that Khoza will be the sole challenger to Gideon Sam for the position of president at Sascoc's December elections have raised questions, as Khoza already holds multiple responsibilities as PSL chairman, Orlando Pirates chairman and Safa vice president.

A number of local officials feel that Khoza's dual position as PSL chairman and chairman of Orlando Pirates may create a conflict of interest. KickOff.com spoke to a number of administers, coaches and officials, but none were willing to go on record as being against Khoza's re-election as PSL chairman. Off record, however, people in local football circles feel that perhaps it is time for the Iron Duke to make way for new blood in PSL leadership.
