Twilight Fun Run

Cape Town runners, clad in fancy dress costumes, will participate in The Twilight Team Run on 6 December 2016. The 34-year-old event is hosted by Community Chest, the city's oldest charity organisation.

The annual event will commence at 19.00 where runners will make their way from Darling Street at the Grand Parade for 4km through the side streets of the CBD and back to the starting point again. After the run, Cape Town radio DJs will host a party for all participants on the Grand Parade.

All participants wishing to showcase their creative costume design talents may enter the dress-up competition which is held from 17.30-18.30, prior to the run.

Who can participate?

“We’re calling for corporates and the public to come together in uniting the Mother City for a good cause,” says Lorenzo Davids, CEO Community Chest of the Western Cape, a non-profit organisation which identifies and supports community welfare initiatives.

Davids says that all surplus funds from this year’s Twilight Run will be invested into education sectors, to help equip scholars going into the 2017 school year.

The event welcomes everybody, including families, friends, schools, NGOs, municipal departments, large corporations and small businesses.

“It is the only fun run/walk event that awards no medals for first place over the finish line and has no timekeepers, but rather encourages community based revelry in support of a great cause.” Davids explains.
