Rosé Valentine's at Vanilla

Vanilla, in the Cape Quarter Extension, will be bringing out a unique Valentine's Day menu having joined forces with four leading Cape wineries to create a four-course menu paired to four outstanding Rosé wines.
Riebeek Cellars Pinotage Rosé will commence this pink-hued culinary voyage when paired with steak tartare on a brioche crostini. The second course of de-boned quail served with a beetroot-and-cumin puree is matched to the Dornier Cocoa Hill Rosé, which is then followed by the superb Kleine Zalze Gamay Noir Rosé, paired with Norwegian Salmon, served on citrus-and-vanilla risotto. Kloovenburg's White from Red Brut will bring this decadent meal to a sparkling close when paired with Vanilla's signature dessert, Tasting of Vanilla.

“The idea was to create a romantic menu, something different. Rosé has always been immensely popular in Europe and is something that seems to be gaining popularity in South Africa too. As far as I am aware no other restaurant has done a complete Rosé-inspired food and wine pairing, and what could be more romantic than these blushed toned Rosés paired with this beautiful setting, delicious food and soft Manhattan-style live jazz and classical music from our suspended baby grand piano?” said Vanilla's owner, Nigel Newhouse. He jokingly added: “The Rosé even fits in with our décor.”

Vanilla Restaurant's Rosé Valentines Day Menu is priced at R350 per person inclusive of your wine per course. Booking is essential. To reserve your table call +27 (0) 21 421 1391 or email . The a la Carte Menu will still be available on Valentine's Day.
