Indie rockers Bloc Party will be the headline act at Rocking the Daisies 2012,on Saturday, 6 October at the Cloof Wine Estate, Darling, Western Cape. The band's new album, "Four", will be released on 20 August, 2012.
Just less than a year ago a big question mark loomed over whether new music would ever emerge from Bloc Party. The band went on a hiatus in October, 2009, to focus on side projects, and reunited in September, 2011. In May, 2012, the band announced via their website that their fourth album, "Four", will be released on 20 August, 2012.
Powerful and anthemic
The four-piece band comprises: Kele Okereke, Russell Lissack, Gordon Moakes and Matt Tong. "Four" presents a band that is lean, hungry, spirited and uncompromising, armed with a collection of songs as powerful and anthemic as they've ever penned, as well as some of their most hard-hitting and visceral recordings to date.
Okereke said: "The record is the sound of four people in a room, loving what they do and doing it to the best of their ability. It is the sound that only the four of us could make, and I am prouder of it than any record we have ever made."
Rocking the Daisies will take place from 4 to 7 October. Get your tickets from www.webtickets.co.za
I would really love those Rocking The Daisies tickets!! Beautiful talking daisies came up to me in a dream and told me that I'm going to win. You can't fight the mystical powers of flowers, so now you have no choice but to give them to me!!
P.S. - as i have stated a million times before, the 5th of October's my 20th birthday so that has to count as a million brownie points :P Posted on 18 Sep 2012 18:11
