Barcelona Children's Home gets into the spirit of Christmas

To kickstart the day, the Amazing Grace Christian Church treated the children to a rendition of song and dance where they delivered a moving display of their love for Jesus in their home language of isiXhosa.

Tears and laughter abounded as these young people with no material possessions to offer stirred the hearts of an audience with their abundant gifts of spiritual love.

By this time tummies were rumbling and it was off to lunch hosted by Gail Erispe, the home's guardian angel for the past two years. A spread fit for the little princes and princesses was sponsored by Bizcommunity.com - which is Gail's employer, King Pie, V&A Waterfront staff, Debt Therapy Tableview, friends and family.

Such gratitude and humbleness on the faces of the little ones was a joy to behold as they were led to their places around the table and waited on by Santa's little helpers - Gail and friends. But wait!! The best was yet to come - boxed gifts in all shapes, colours and sizes.

Wow! Eyes alight, ears preventing the little faces from splitting in two by grins so big they lit up the room. How precious are our little ones! They receive without question - both the good and the bad. We owe it to every child given to us by God to protect them, love them and guide them in His way.

Tears flowed freely when it was time for them to depart - back to the real world of the home where they are cared for by Pastor Julius Bonani and his wife, Irene, with their hardworking and loyal helpers. Until next year, perhaps?

However, it does not have to be so. The home needs constant assistance and these children need love - a free commodity. Are you willing to offer your support and or assistance to these children or others in need?
