The team made up largely of disadvantaged youth from Soweto took on the best and showcased their abilities throughout the highly competitive field. Loveday Zondi finished in 12th position and 19 year old Siseko Ntondini who competed in the under 23's came 11th overall out of 1500 highly competent paddlers. SCARC founder and CEO of ADreach, Brad Fisher described the results as; "Another proud moment for SCARC. The team's performance captures the tenacity and talent of these young men. To finish so well against world-class competition fills me with pride. It's inspiring for all of us at ADreach". SCARC teaches underpriveliged Soweto kids how to swim, participate in water sports, develop crucial life skills and become economically active. The initiative was started by ADreach, who continue to enthusiastically sponsor the team.
