OUTsurance Mobile Pointsmen launch into Cape Town

Says Peter Cronje', Head of marketing at OUTsurance: "The Mobile Pointsmen concept was first launched in Johannesburg in 2006, and since then has gone on to touch the daily lives of thousands of motorists and served as the pinnacle of the OUTsurance Privatised Pointsmen Project.

"The Cape Town team has trained long and hard for this and I am excited to announce that we will commence with an initial team of four Mobile Pointsmen who have obtained their motorcycle Drivers Licences and chalked up the necessary skills and experience. We will continue to increase the Cape Town Mobile initiative over time via internal promotion from within the team of 20 Pointsmen and Women, once they have acquired the necessary motorcycle licences and riding competency."

Colleen Bekker, managing director of Traffic Freeflow, the company which originated and continues to manage the Privatised Pointsmen Project says: "We have grown the Mobile Pointsmen initiative from a team of just 10 Pointsmen in Johannesburg in 2006, to a total of 37, which now includes Cape Town!"

Colleen Bekker goes on to say: "On this auspicious and long-awaited occasion, I would like to say a huge thank you to the City of Cape Town and Cape Town Traffic Services, as well as the Project's Lead Sponsor - OUTsurance. Without each of their invaluable contributions, this Public-Private Partnership would not have experienced the huge success that it has to date!"

OUTsurance plans to not only continue growing the Mobile team in Cape Town, but will also be working hard to launch the Mobile concept into new areas such as Tshwane, to provide an even greater benefit to motorists via the ability to instantly deploy Pointsmen on motorcycles to various intersections and areas of traffic congestion as and when required throughout the day.
