Nelson Mandela Bridge shines pink in October, for Breast Cancer Awareness with Estée Lauder

In 2000, Mrs Evelyn Lauder launched The BCA Campaign's Global Landmarks Illuminations Initiative. This initiative involves illuminating notable landmarks in glowing pink lights all over the world to call attention to breast health and early detection. In 2010, The Estée Lauder BCA Campaign earned a Guinness World Record for "Most Landmarks Illuminated for a Cause in 24 Hours". The BCA Campaign will continue to illuminate notable landmarks in our markets globally.
This year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign and we highlight the dedication, life and legacy of Mrs Evelyn Lauder.

We are proud to announce that for the first time Estée Lauder Companies South Africa together with the City of Jo'burg will be illuminating the most notable landmark in Africa - The Nelson Mandela Bridge on the 2nd October 2012.

In support of this, we ask you to take to social networks and spread the word. Creating Awareness is everyone's responsibility. The use of the #BCA20 campaign hashtag is encouraged across all social networks to join conversations together.

A Twibbon has also been created in support of the campaign, and we implore you to change your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and any other social profile image to this image for the month of October 2012. As a contribution from the Estée Lauder Companies South Africa, we promise to donate R1 for every Twibbon created during October, up to R25 000. Upon reaching the 25 000 mark, the Estée Lauder companies pledge to match the amount to R50 000 with the funds donated to the Look Good Feel Better Foundation. We kindly ask you to share this on your various social networks and profiles to further spread the message for #BCA20. We also call upon corporates all around South Africa to join us in this cause, and pledge your support.
