GraphicMail celebrates Mandela Day

Every year on 18 July, corporates and individuals from all over the globe join in to support the Mandela Day initiative and donate 67 minutes of their time to a charity or foundation of their choice. This year GraphicMail joined in on the fun and donated time and energy to worthy causes in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
The GraphicMail Cape Town team helped Catholic Welfare and Development to clean up the Women in Need Playhouse Crèche in Woodstock. The W.I.N Playhouse Crèche currently caters for 24 children all from underprivileged homes and different walks of life. The crèche serves as a safe place for these children to spend their mornings and get a hearty cooked meal.

"This year we wanted to get involved with an initiative for Mandela Day where we knew we would make a difference in someone else's everyday life. By spending 67 minutes of our time to clean up and restore the library room at the W.I.N Playhouse Crèche, the GraphicMail team made a difference in the lives of those children by providing them with a clean, safe environment to read in," says Andre Strauss, GraphicMail South Africa Country Manager.

Not only did the Cape Town team join in on the fun, but the Gauteng office also spent 67 minutes of their time helping the Just Footprints Foundation packing goodie bags. The Just Footprints Foundation's vision is to create opportunities for children and their families to reach beyond their serious illnesses and challenges and discover joy. The Just Footprints Foundation invites children with serious illnesses to a free, nurturing and fun camp backed by appropriate medical support.

Strauss concludes by saying, "Taking two hours out of the office for Mandela Day and donating 67 minutes to a worthy cause is definitely something anyone can do and will contribute to the greater cause of helping others in need and building a happier society."

GraphicMail supported International Nelson Mandela Day initiatives from Cape Town to Johannesburg. By donating a little bit of time and money, GraphicMail was able to make a difference in the lives of others.
