Neo Monyeki is a seven-year-old boy with a heart valve problem who needs a vital operation that costs R130,000. His father, Joseph has a medical aid but not enough to cover all the costs. Raising funds for this little boy will make a big difference to his family's financial worries. Jacaranda FM's Good Morning Angels slot covered the story to reach as many people as they can to raise funds and donations to give hope to the family.
Please help Neo: Seven year old boy that needs heart operation that costs R130,000
For Mandela Day, Mindshare Johannesburg employees joined forces to support the great initiative to assist Neo with raising medical funds by selling cookies and cakes. The participation of employees and management was incredible and yielded amazing results. The cake sale managed to achieve a sum of R5,000. Mindshare CEO Maria Phillips is proud to say, "I would like to thank Karola, the rest of the Mindshare MTN team and all of those who helped pull together a really good initiative. Thanks for provoking us all to contribute almost R7,000 to a very worthy cause. And thank you Mindshare team for giving so generously! Loved the cake..."
The 67 minutes initiative is the celebration of Mandela's birthday to honour him by serving as a global call to help change the world around us for the better. There are people who are less fortunate that could benefit, no matter how small or big the gesture. Most of the time we think about only giving material things and money but Mandela Day is about giving someone something that they didn't have before such as an inspirational message, hug or smile. Giving back doesn't have to cost you. July is the month to dedicate to Mandela and we should continue with his legacy everyday not only on the 18th of July.
Neo's story doesn't end here - if you would like to make a donation towards this little boy who needs our help. The contribution would be highly appreciated and make a difference in his life. Your contribution can be made to Neo's father, Joseph Monyeki at ABSA Bank Account: 90 7366 1028 Mr JM Monyeki.
