The annual Homemakers Expo took place the past weekend from 28 Feb - 3 Mar 2013 at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg. For the past twenty years and from the inception of the Homemakers Expo, GL events Oasys has been the proud infrastructure supplier to the show. This South African favourite is still the country's largest, multi-award winning home interest expo and in 2013 hosted 360 exhibitors on over 600 stands and with over 50,000 visitors over the four days.
The show has grown and evolved over the years, spreading across the South African landscape and changing its concept with each installment to ensure a unique experience every year. Organisers invest in the aesthetic of the show and have a great eye for detail; each area has a distinct personality where exhibitors are easily grouped which makes it very easy for patrons to differentiate the areas and navigate through the show. Further unique features include a Builders DIY Theatre, a decorators challenge and bigger spaces for furniture stands, to name a few.
Adri Pentz, Project Manager at GL events Oasys, has been assigned to the Homemakers Expo for the past five years: "Homemakers is a big project for us, we collaborate on conceptualising the event each year and, together with the organisers, start planning approximately one year in advance. There are unique demands to this show; exhibitors are in the DIY and homemaking industry so they put a lot of hard work and effort into their stands and stand designs. It is a world-class event and therefore requires a world-class service. It also demands unique and creative solutions and we are proud to be able to offer these, regardless of timelines. Seeing the end product- such a beautiful show- is worth every minute of hard work."
In 2013, GL events Oasys sponsored a custom stand for Homemakers as a 20-year anniversary gift, as well as a stand for the "A Brick in The Wall" initiative. Homemakers Expo supported this initiative whole-heartedly in 2013 with the goal of raising R200 000 to donate to the Moffatview Community Orphanage - an initiative supported by Meals on Wheels.
Says GL events Oasys CEO, Mark Strydom: "We value our relationship with the Homemakers Expo very much and will continue to support the event in every way possible. Having recently launched our new name and brand, GL events Oasys, we appreciate the continued support from all our clients. We are stronger than ever in our offering and committed to remain as leader in the field of innovative, full service solutions. Our enhanced international profile has enabled us to gain access to state of the art resources as well as world class expertise, which is a benefit to the South African exhibitions and events industry as a whole."Click here to view the full image gallery.About GL events OasysGL events Oasys
