From 10am to 5pm, the centre will come alive in a parade of fashion shows, interactive catwalks, displays and fashion carousels. Fashion will have free rein in four circus rings: the Fountain Court, Protea Court, Banking Court and Upper Edgars Court.

"Sandton City is known for its ability to be unique, to set trends and push boundaries and the Fashion Circus is no exception. Once again the centre will be firmly cementing its reputation as the fashion destination of South Africa. We are proud to have Audi on board, as a sponsor of this event as the two brands share many synergies," says Mel Urdang, director: retail and leasing for Liberty Properties who manage the centre.

"Our vehicles are known for their beautiful designs and unmistakable class. There is a perfect synergy between the two, which will be an incredible showcase of automotive beauty and style," says Ryan Searle, head of Audi South Africa.

International and local brands

International brands such as Mango, Guess, Steve Madden, Pringle, Country Road, Trenery and Diesel, among others, will take the spotlight with some South African labels like Nicci Boutique, Marion and Lindie, Edgars, Stuttafords and Woolworths, showcasing the best the centre has to offer.

Tamsyn Egnos Rutstein, head of marketing for Busby Group, says, "The Fashion Circus concept is very exciting as it brings theatre and fashion together in a novel way." The group's participating brands, Mango and Forever New, will be showcased outside of the traditional store environment, enticing customers into the stores. "This really is more than just fashion shows and court displays; it is a big effort in terms of marketing and activation and I cannot wait to see it come alive," says Rutstein.

Sandra Rogers, executive manager Edgars Trend & Design, gives a sneak peak of the trend taking centre stage. "The biggest trend this season is colour! We just love the mix of brights, pastels and the most amazing fluoros. Wear these colours tone-on-tone, clashing, or with lashings of white. Or layer colour with other key trends of the season; crazy prints and shine. Mix it up at the store with its brands - private, local and international - to create your own 'Colour Summer' look."
