New format, new venue - exciting challenges for Microsoft Partner Summit 2008, which Collyer Lessick and Associates embraced with enthusiasm and excitement!
Even with the experience of the past Summit events over almost five years, the logistics and expectation management that goes hand in hand with a new venue, brought the challenges into play and saw Collyer Lessick rise above it all to once again deliver an amazing event!
Held at the Durban International Convention Centre (DICC) from 6-8 August, the event connected Microsoft with many of their valued partners from around South Africa and neighbouring countries.
From conceptualisation to creative expression, from detailed planning to intricate implementation, CLA managed all the various teams on the project and brought everyone together into a cohesive outfit fit to deliver some of their best work yet.
Guests were accommodated in six different hotels which logistically required methodical planning to get them to and from the ICC.
With an agenda including over 70 sessions, animated Roundtable Discussions and Product Demos, as well as a “Meet Microsoft” chill area, the conference displayed some of the best in staging and set design and facilitated awesome networking opportunities.
Vicky Sampson opened the event with her newly released hot song, “One Tribe”, as well as her anthemic “African Dream”. The “One Tribe” was coupled with scrolling images of all Partner names as well as the Partner Program campaign images.
Ushaka Marine World provided a unique environment for the Opening Cocktail Party and the Awards Gala Dinner wrapped up an exquisite evening in elegant African style. The diversity of cultures from the traditional Zulu kingdom to the Indian markets of saffron and spices, resplendent rickshaw rides, Hindu temples and the Juma Musja Mosque created a colourful and vibrant atmosphere.
Guests were hosted by Krijay Govender and entertained by the world-famous Freshly Ground.
By all accounts one of the most impressive events for Microsoft and most definitely an event to be proud of for Collyer Lessick and Associates!
