Sound Media and Veet bring Paris Hilton to JHB
Issued by: Kezi Communications

With a little more than 24 hours notice and the Easter weekend hours away, Sound Media had the gruelling task of arranging all logistics for an exclusive private party for Paris Hilton. Notwithstanding the extreme security arrangements, venue hire and technical requirements, Sound Media were also in need of a sponsorship agreement for the event.

Ruggero Bonomi of Sound Media (event managers), Paris Hilton, Benji Madden of Good Charlotte and Jessica Wheeler of Kezi Communications (publicists for the event).
Veet, South Africa's premier choice in hair removal products, came on board with full backing for the event, which took place at Fashion TV Cafe, Cedar Square on Friday 21 March. Further to this, Sound Media secured 5fm as the official media arm.

The event carried tremendous risk for Sound Media, as the promise of Paris Hilton appearing at any venue carried with it the dangers of breached security and the need for crowd control. Together with a team of outsourced publicists, additional security and the buy-in from the FTV franchise, the event was a resounding success for all parties involved, including the huge public turnout for fans wanting a glimpse of Paris.

Ruggero Bonomi, Managing Partner of Sound Media, was overwhelmed at the opportunity granted to the Sound Media team, “Being entrusted by an international celeb and her management team with this level of confidence was fantastic. Even with the additional pressure of a 24-hour turnaround time, we succeeded in making this the talked-about event of the Easter weekend.

“Sound Media are fortunate to be involved in bringing a celebrity like Paris to the general public, and the response from the crowd was deafening. We look forward to future opportunities in bringing international icons to local venues,” he concludes.

The event was covered extensively by local and international media, who were invited to the event and afforded the opportunity of getting up close and personal with Paris Hilton.
