Eleven renowned speakers lined up for IAB Digital Summit

The IAB Digital Summit, in association with BBC.com and Bookmark Awards, taking place at Turbine Hall in Newtown, Johannesburg on 19 February 2015, has announced the speaker line-up of international and local thought leaders.

Zeinab Badawi, presenter on BBC World News, will begin the programme with a discussion on Journalism in the digital age and how the BBC plans to maintain their position as global news leader. David Sable, Global CEO of Y&R in New York who will discuss, 'Let's change the world', will follow Badawi. Ali Jafari, the VP of Direct Sales for Twitter, Europe concludes the morning session with 'Marketing in the moment'. He'll speak on how Twitter has changed the way information is communicated and consumed and how brands can set themselves up to respond effectively to current events and make the most of marketing in the moment.

David Doty, Executive VP of IAB US, will offer delegates his views on the state and growth of the US market, how IAB US is in solidarity with IAB SA and highlights from the international IAB Mixx Awards in his presentation on 'The state of the US market and IAB vision for 2015'.

Dmitry Shishkin, BBC Digital Development Editor will delve into editorial innovation with reference to the specific example of BBC World News Services and the newly launched African Edition in his talk on Digital transformation of news across multiple platforms.

As long as online audiences are fragmented, attention split and difficult to gauge, marketers need to develop the right tools to unlock winning content. Ido Yerushalmi, Senior Director, Business Development EMEA, Outbrain will offer his insights on Planning for discovery - four keys to winning the content revolution.

London-based Eyabo Macauley, the Head of EMEA Advertising at Shazam Entertainment will discuss how Shazam is helping brands own, extend and exploit their affiliations with music in both app media and Shazam for television, and why music should play an integral role in overall marketing strategies.

The next speaker, Gregor Waller is a Global Digital Strategist who consults to the top management of leading newspapers around the world in their challenge of both developing new revenue streams and restructuring their core business for the digital age. He will share his insights with delegates in his topic Monetising mobile audiences.

From New York, comes South African native and marketing pioneer Matthew Bull of Bull Whitehouse. After founding one of South Africa's premier agencies, Lowe Bull, he became CEO of London based Lowe and Global Chief Creative Officer of Lowe Worldwide. Matthew currently runs The Bull White House in New York where they produce work for clients including Unilever, Corona and Galaxy Foods.

Mark Slade, Managing Director of Opera Mediaworks EMEA will demonstrate that mobile data isn't a four letter word and that it adds real value across the marketing mix in his topic The future of creativity and big data.

Chris Clarke, Chief Creative Officer at DigitasLBi raises the socio-economic and socio-political potential of effective digital campaigns. In his talk on How digital can activate purpose for brands, Chris focuses on emerging markets such as India and Africa to illustrate how the media industry can be more conscious of the importance of using digital for the benefit of developing nations.
