Entries for the seventh National Geographic Kids Young Photographers Competition are now open. Kids aged 6-14 can enter their photos in one of four categories: Animals, I Love South Africa, People and That's Funny. Entries close on 20 November 2012.
Prizes worth more than R110 000 are sponsored by Nikon, Sabi Sabi, Airlink and SanDisk and the winning photo will be printed in the March 2013 issue.

The 2011 competition attracted 2 230 entries, up 30% from 1 720 in 2010, which proves that the magazine's readers love capturing unforgettable moments.

"Last year's competition exceeded our expectations and this year we would like to see fresh ideas emerge in amazing shots," says Fiona Thomson, editor of NG Kids. "The Young Photographers competition is the most popular in the Young series and we enjoy getting original, interesting entries each year."
