Cars in Action magazine will publish the official programme for the Johannesburg International Motor Show (JIMS) . Sister title Bakkie & Truck Action will likewise double as the official programme for JIMS' Commercial Vehicle aspect.
The agreement will see the December issue of Cars in Action magazine customised to cater fully for the dual roles of offering a top quality show programme while still satisfying the magazine's regular readership and anyone who cannot get to the show through its normal off the shelf distribution from mid-November.
Says Cars in Action publisher Michele Lupini, “This project offers the unique challenge of doubling up a top class motor show programme with our regular magazine and we can't wait to get our teeth into putting together a specialised publication dedicated to South Africa's international motor show, all its exhibitors, visitors and our regular readers…”
JIMS runs 1 - 9 November 2008 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre.
CIA Publisher has since issued a statement that there's been a misunderstanding..."We also apologise once again for any inconvenience caused by our earlier and ultimately inaccurate announcement of that ill-fated JIMS Edition. Action Publications will indeed produce a JIMS-oriented issue of Cars in Action for sale through our normal outlets, but that issue will no longer be sold at the show." Posted on 5 Aug 2008 10:38
