A new magazine is scheduled to hit Eastern Cape shelves at the end of this month. My Leader will focus on social values and also delve into the cultural history of the province.

Owner and publisher of Nozinga Media Sandile Matebese, 49, said he wanted to create a medium where the voiceless could express themselves.

"The Eastern Cape is regarded as the home of legends, but often we lag behind in development. There is a lack of employment and much poverty. It is high time that we turn the ship around by cultivating the spirit of entrepreneurship."

The magazine will be launched in Port Elizabeth on 16 August.

It will also aim at interacting with readers to develop a culture of learning and writing. It will be printed monthly and its launch cover will feature Lillian Ngoyi, who was the first woman elected to the executive committee of the ANC.

"Our concept is to profile and elevate people in the sporting, education and cultural sectors," Matebese said.
