The next fundraising event - the Massimos Fundraiser - is scheduled for 3 September, but the charity might not make it to this date. And moreover, it might only survive in the long term if it creates a base of support through a monthly pledge from as little as R50 per person.

With running costs of R80,000 to R100,000 per month for wages, food, vet bills and other expenses, it requires 2,000 people committing to R50 per month.

"Right now we need some angels with cash donations and the vital monthly debit order pledges. For the 250+ animals in our care, the 20+ staff that could lose their jobs and the Hout Bay community in general," says Spokesperson Kerrey Ann Baggaley.

The statistics have proven that if everyone who supports DARG pledges to donate R50 a month, then DARG can continue the charitable work they do.

How to make your pledge

You can complete your debit order forms at DARG or they can be emailed to you and you can drop them off at DARG once filled out. Send your email address to moc.liamg@syadgrad.
