Milk for the heart gets a facelift

Goodbye Omega 3, hello OméCOL… Parmalat's OméCOL low-fat milk - enriched with essential Omega 3 fatty acids and Vitamins C, E and B6 - first introduced as Omega 3 milk, is now in a bright new pack sporting a new brand name (but the contents keep to the tried and trusted formulation).

This product is the natural, convenient and tasty way to take in the essential Omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which the body cannot produce itself. When taken as part of a diet low in fat and saturated fats, the Omega 3 fatty acids in OméCOL may reduce the risk of heart disease. Vitamins C and E function as tissue antioxidants, thereby keeping cells healthy. Vitamin B6 plays a role in protein and fat metabolism and helps maintain a healthy skin.

OméCOL low-fat milk carries the Heartmark and has the Halaal stamp of approval.  A long-life product, OméCOL retains its natural nutrients and good taste without any preservatives for up to three months.

More and more South Africans have come to understand the link between diet and wellbeing, and that prevention is key and the company says it is taking the lead in the dynamic functional food category with a range of fortified and enhanced functional milks suited to the family's changing nutritional needs throughout life. Other functional milks in the Parmalat stable include First Growth ready-to-drink milk for toddlers and PhysiCAL calcium-enriched milk formulated for bone-health.
