Issued by: Sondag

The partnership between Sondag and Bakgat, the new local Afrikaans teenage movie from Ster-Kinekor, heralds an exciting phase for youth marketing in Sondag.

Margarethe Booysen, acting brand manager for Sondag, said they are very excited about the involvement of Sondag in the very first Afrikaans teen comedy. “This movie falls under the American teenage comedy tradition which is hugely popular amongst South African teenagers. It is refreshing to also have this genre in Afrikaans and Sondag is always ready to get involved with anything that's new and innovative in Afrikaans - particularly when it involves the youth market.” This marketing drive forms part of Sondag's extensive marketing campaign for 2008.

Bakgat will be screened in our theatres from April 11. Actors include Cherie van der Merwe, Altus Theart, Ciske Kruger and Dantus Lundal. Also look out for the soundtrack with music of Melktertkommissie, Albert de Wet, Straatligkinders, Glaskas, éF-éL, Shaun V and Quentin Prinsloo.
