World Creativity Day spent in Eco Ranger style

The long anticipated Eco Ranger competition judging event took place at HDI Youth Marketeers' Head Office in Johannesburg on the 22 April 2014. This date also marks World Creativity Day on the global calendar. Members of the Pikitup and Ogilvy PR teams were invited to an afternoon of identifying the top entries in the Pikitup Eco Rangers school competition.
Each of the seven regional prize packages will consist of the following:

One winning school will win a prize to the value of R7,500, and a winning teacher will win a voucher to the value of R350!

Prizes also include the following learner prizes:

First place learner - R500 voucher

Second place learner - R250 voucher

Third place learner - R100 voucher

The judging event saw the team identify schools that submitted a portfolio of evidence that identified a problem at their school in any of these four categories: Littering, Recycling, Conservation or Carbon Footprint. The idea behind the campaign is to motivate and empower our young learners to become aware of the environmental issues facing all of us.

"It is important to get our learners thinking about what they can do to save our Earth or make it a better place in which to live," says Amanda Nair, Managing Director of Pikitup.

The teams have selected their top entries and are looking forward to announcing the winners in the next few weeks and conducting prize handovers at the various schools.
