Sage Pastel honours its channel's top performers

In early November Sage Pastel celebrated its resellers with a Channel Awards evening at a special event held at Sage Technology Park in Johannesburg. Eight proud channel partners took top honours and 15 more received prizes and certificates. With a channel of 4500 resellers in South Africa alone, Sage Pastel makes awards in two categories: VARs who resell, install, implement and support its products, and Accountants Forum members who are registered accounting professionals providing a total service to their clients using Sage Pastel products.
The winning VARs are calculated based on the highest sales and service points while the winning Forum partners are those who achieve the highest sales.

Steve Cohen, MD of Sage Pastel Accounting, paid tribute to the entire channel. "Our partners work closely with our users forming the vital link between us and them across the country. They understand their customers' immediate needs. We completely rely on them to keep an eye out for future requirements, ensuring agility when change is required. They're also an essential link in the chain that gives us vital feedback which keeps our products and services relevant."

On the subject of loyalty, Cohen said many channel partners had been with Sage Pastel since its inception as Softline more than 25 years ago. "They represent a great deal of skill which is what makes them so valuable not just to us but to our customers too. They have the experience to absorb volumes of support from our customers."

Once Cohen had thanked the channel for its support, Daryl Blundell, the company's sales director, gave a presentation of future plans. The company has always believed in keeping its channel fully up to date on what's coming down the line and these updates allow their partners to plan ahead, not only for themselves but for their customers too. This was followed by Uriel Rootshtain of Microsoft giving a brief introduction to Office 365, one of the evening's prizes along with Pastel Partner products.

Then business was set aside and it was time to party. 80s disco band Out of the Blue took everyone back to the decade when Steve Cohen, Ivan Epstein and Alan Osrin founded the company that is today Sage Pastel. In true IT industry style, everyone turned up in their disco gear, reminding us all why we love to love the 80s!
