Woolworths recalls hot water bottles

Woolworths Holdings (WHL) said it was recalling hot water bottles sold since April 2011.

The recall was initiated following a number of hot water bottles being returned and a customer being injured as a result of a leaking bottle.

The recall applies to hot water bottles with style numbers 501120262, 501120270 and 501120254, barcodes 600910139792, 6009101397440, and 6009101147731.

"The safety of our customers is of utmost importance, and therefore we immediately initiated the recall. We know that South Africans trust Woolworths for quality and would like to apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused," said Woolworths director of clothing and general merchandise, Brett Kaplan.

The group said the hot water bottles could be returned in store for a full refund and customers could call Customer Services on 0860 022 002 if they had any queries.
