Email and newsletter advertising are still more effective than RSS, Blogs, and PPC!
Issued by: Twelve Horses PR

Opt-in email campaigns still deliver the best Return On Investment compared to RSS (Really Simple Syndication), Blogs or PPC (Pay Per Click marketing). This is true even when all the costs related to promoting an opt-in email campaign are factored in.

Twelve Horses conducted research on RSS uptake in South Africa in January 2006. 2000 consumers who receive email communication regularly were surveyed. Of the total, only 9% knew what RSS or Blogs were. Only 7% of those surveyed preferred to use RSS rather than email.

Email and Newsletter advertising campaigns are still the undisputed best tools available to promote business products and services. The measurable results are achieved faster than RSS and Blogs and are cheaper than using PPC marketing.

However, marketers should not ignore RSS and Blogs. RSS is a very cost effective method of bringing information to your clients and potential clients. It is the new technology on the block (although it has been around for some time) and is transforming the Internet and how businesses communicate with their customers and subscribers. It is likely to become the preferred method of communication in the future.

With these results in mind, companies should retain their current email marketing strategies but RSS and Blogs should also be worked in to the mix. Now is the time to put RSS feeds in place - monitor the uptake carefully whilst still communicating via Opt-in email or Ezine campaigns. By syndicating Blog feeds into email campaigns and automating the email communications, your subscribers will be introduced to the wonderful world of RSS.

With the combined forces of email marketing, RSS and blogs, a company website can be a goldmine of information for visitors to your website. Time should be spent on crafting quality contents for your website and emails. In addition, this will increase search engine ranking remarkably well.
