Best selling pictures of 2012

12 Feb 2013 09:27Submit a commentBizLike
There are certain images that the publishing markets rate higher than others. And some that sell over and over again. Africa Media Online's picture library focuses on images taken by Africans in Africa and we have created a gallery of our best sellers in 2012. Use rights are sold to book publishers, magazines and newspapers as well as to the commercial market.
Last year's top selling image was a surprise - a simple image of South African newspapers, but it filled a gap in the market. Some images appear every year - including many from Bailey's African History Archive. Sometimes it is about catching a trend - like solar power, or something uniquely African - like a meal of mopane worms.
