The celebrities for charities auctions on bidorbuy open on Tuesday, 23 June, and close on Tuesday, 30 June. During this week, bidders will have a chance to compete for the privilege of spending some time in the company of their favourite celebrity - and help raise money for several charities in the process.

The participating charities include IkamvaYouth, an organisation whose aim is to provide disadvantaged secondary school learners with skills; Matla a Bana, an organisation dedicated to erasing child abuse; and South African Anxiety and Depression Group, Africa's largest mental health support and advocacy group. Since the celebrities for charities auctions are an open event, more charities and celebrities may join the party.

These auctions are also a chance for companies to treat their most distinguished employees or business partners to a “meet-and-greet” with one of these celebrities and to show that they care about improving the lot of those who need help most, says Higgins.
