Moneyweb, ITWeb partner for online events, recruitment

Moneyweb.co.za announced a five-year joint venture agreement with ITWeb yesterday, Monday 10 March 2008, to launch and operate a number of new web-based services. The two initiatives are targeted at Moneyweb's growing audience and are powered by ITWeb's business model, technology and service delivery methodology.

Moneyweb Careers, involving online recruitment services on Moneyweb's platforms, will be based on ITWeb's technology and know-how. ITWeb will also assist Moneyweb Events in arranging conferences, seminars and breakfast meetings to help meet the information needs of niche audiences.

Jovan Regasek, chief executive of ITWeb, said, “ITWeb has successfully used its position as the leading technology publisher to offer our readers – from technology professionals to CEOs – an array of web services including online recruitment and events. Our audience, technology and business model present opportunities for complimentary synergies with Moneyweb.”

"Enter new markets"

Alec Hogg, chief executive of Moneyweb Holdings, commented: “By working in partnership with ITWeb, we're able to enter new markets that represent strong growth opportunities for both companies.

“We believe that when two powerful online brands like Moneyweb and ITWeb collaborate through shared technology and combined marketing effort, we can enhance the services available to our audiences while also significantly improving the revenue potential of both businesses.”

Mvelaphanda Holdings announced recently that it would finance the acquisition of a 25.1% interest in ITWeb through women's broad-based black economic empowerment consortium Ummango Investment Holdings. Mvela Holdings last year assisted in financing the acquisition of 25% of Moneyweb by Isingqi Investment Holdings, while its sister company, Mvelaphanda Group, is set to acquire 30% of Avusa for R1.4 billion.
