MSN Africa joins the OPAIssued by: Habari GroupMSN Africa, one of the world’s most recognised information and search portals, as well as free messaging and email applications, Windows Live Hotmail, and Messenger, has joined the OPA. The move comes as the online industry continues to consolidate, and there are increased calls for audience measurement credibility from media agencies. Adrian Hewlett, MD of Habari Media, the official representative for MSN Africa explains his rationale for joining: “The OPA plays an extremely important role in the development of our local on-line advertising industry, not only in terms of building trust in online as a medium, but also by sustaining a vibrancy in the online industry. MSN Africa is proud to be associated with the OPA, and will continue to make every effort to contribute towards the growth of this industry."
Although the Nielson data statistics have not yet been released, MSN Africa, with one million unique users a month, is expected to take its place in the top three sites in Africa.
