OUTsurance Insurance attracts record field
Issued by: OUTsurance

OUTsurance, one of the clear leaders in the field of insurance in South Africa, has hosted another very successful OUTsurance 94.5 Kfm Gun Run. The popular road race, comprising a half marathon, a 10km race and a 5km fun run, took place in perfect running conditions in Cape Town's picturesque Green Point.

It attracted a record field of entrants, as over 7 000 runners took their place on the starting line. Some of them came to get some serious race time and others just ran for the fitness and the fun. Everyone, however, was there to make a contribution to a worthy cause.

The event raised R65 000 for Operation Smile, an international medical services volunteer organisation that provides reconstructive facial surgery for children around the globe.

OUTsurance sponsored the 94.5 Kfm DJs, “Friends of the Breakfast Team” and the radio station's listeners, to the tune of R50 000. The rest of the funds were raised by the runners, with Atlantic Athletic Club donating the remaining R5 000.

Natalie Miller, Operation Smile's South African director, expressed the organisation's gratitude for the donated funds, adding that the money would help to further its aim of enabling children in South Africa with facial deformities to live normal lives.

It is also well-known for its innovative Traffic Freeflow Project, which provides points people at peak traffic hours at Johannesburg's busiest intersections.
