2010: South Africans say that SABC has a central role

Issued by: African Response
South Africans believe that the SABC has a fundamental responsibility during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, according to market research company African Response.
African Response polled 400 respondents representative of the major cities in South Africa (Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town and Pretoria). Respondents were asked whether they feel that the SABC has an important role to play in bringing the nation together during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Being the national broadcasting network, South Africans are relying on the SABC to keep the nation up to date during the World Cup. A staggering 95% of South Africans said yes, while only 2% said no. Three percent (3%) said that they were unsure of the importance of SABC's role during 2010.

Are we ready for 2010?
With only 396 days left to go, preparations are already taking shape and South Africans are starting to notice them. Seventy-six percent (76%) of South Africans are confident that our country will be ready for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. This is an impressive 10% increase from the last monthly measurement taken in September this year and it is a record high since the first monthly measurement in March 2006.
