In 2004, South Africa was nominated as host country for the 2010 FIFA World Cup and four years down the line, with one and a half years left to go, South Africans are noticing and talking about the improvements made.

While almost half of South Africans (49%) had noticed the improvements, 28% neither agreed nor disagreed that South Africa has made significant improvements. Twenty-one percent (21%) did not feel that there had been any impressive improvements in South Africa's infrastructure since 2004.

However, the country's infrastructure is only one of the areas receiving attention and South Africa is still undergoing various preparations ahead of 2010.

Are we going to be ready on time?

Sixty-eight percent (68%) of South Africans say “yes, we will be ready to take on the 2010 FIFA World Cup!”
