The third generation, new iPad will launch in South Africa on Friday 27 April 2012. It features a new Retina display, Apple's new A5X chip with quad-core graphics and a 5 megapixel iSight camera with advanced optics for capturing photos and 1080p HD video. The new iPad still delivers the same 10-hour battery life, while remaining thin and light.

The South African launch joins Colombia, Estonia, India, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro and Thailand. The new iPad Wi-Fi will be available in black or white in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models. Additionally, iPad 2 is available at a more affordable price. Details of local recommended retail pricing will be available for South Africa next week.
