Boosting dreams with the strength to win

Two lucky Lunch Bar lovers have each won a Ford Bantam Bakkie in the Cadbury Lunch Bar ‘Strength to Win' promotion.

The promotion, which kicked off in August this year and runs until December, aims to reward hard-working Lunch Bar consumers by giving them the boost they need to reach their dreams. The Ford Bantam, “the bakkie that builds the nation”, is the perfect prize for this aspirational population.

The two big winners - Thembiso Motlhale and Malcolm Ogle – were selected from over 77,000 entries, and received their brand new bakkies from the Cadbury Lunch Bar team at a special handover event held in Randburg on Friday, 9 November.

Both winners were delighted with their good fortune.

Thembiso, from Mafikeng, dreams of owning a farm one day – and now he has the perfect vehicle for the job!

Randburg resident Malcolm, who is self-employed in the IT industry, wants to expand his business – and no doubt the bakkie will help him in this endeavour.

During the first two months of the ‘Strength to Win' promotion, entrants also stood the chance of winning one of eight Bosch DIY Tool Kits, valued at R5000 each, as well as daily prize giveaways of Cadbury Lunch Bars for a month. For the remaining three months a hamper of Cadbury Lunch Bars can be won each week.

The promotion was heavily supported by a radio campaign aired on a selection of strong vernacular stations, as well as in-store marketing communication.

To date, Cadbury has had over 1000 entries per day!

“We're exceptionally pleased with the results thus far,” comments Cadbury chocolate category manMger, Mike Middleton. “Lunch Bar has taken both Thembiso and Malcolm one step closer to achieving their dreams. It has, quite literally, given them the strength to win!”
