In 2011, SuperSport partnered with Big Fish School of Digital Filmmaking, migrating the in-house training model previously used by SuperSport to create this course. Eight participants went through intensive, hands-on training, combining Big Fish's rigorous teaching methodologies with practical experience whilst assisting on the Rugby World Cup, on site at SuperSport. The course ran from April to November, seeing all eight participants sailing through their assessments, in addition to being offered Production Assistant and Production Coordinator employment contracts at SuperSport.

Although these students graduated in 2011, being the first time that any learnership/internship in SuperSport has been rewarded with a Seta accredited qualification, the certificates were only issued this month.

Says Big Fish CEO, Dr Melanie Chait, "We are extremely proud of breaking new ground with SuperSport and would like to congratulate Docky Dockrat for his vision and commitment to ensuring our youth are trained to the highest standards, and for adopting the Big Fish model of intensive training."
