The SABC won seven PROMAX Muse and BDA Isis Awards at the annual PROMAX/BDA conference held on 26 October in Sandton. These awards recognise the creative talent required to produce on-air material to assist broadcasters to attract and retain viewers.
"Being involved in PROMAX/BDA AFRICA not only allows the SABC to unearth its own talent, but support the promo production industry as a whole to nurture and recognise creative excellence. The PROMAX/BDA AFRICA conference and awards underscore the importance of this industry to create top-of-mind awareness for a Broadcaster's brand, channel or programming." says SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago.

SABC Corporate Marketing received three silver awards for its Olympics 2012 promo in the Mama Africa, Best Promo not using programme footage and Best Directing categories.

SABC1's Photo Heritage Project promo (produced by Masters and Savant Worldwide) received the gold as well as silver award in the Best Special event and Best use of social media categories.

In the category Best Public Service Announcement/Community Spot, the Gold Award went to SABC2 for its Thank you Madiba promo.

SABC3's Mandela Day promo (produced by Masters and Savant Worldwide) was awarded the silver BDA Isis Award in the category Best Design without footage.

The SABC was one of the inaugural sponsors of PROMAX/BDA AFRICA in 2006 and has since strengthened its partnership with the organisers of this prestigious event.

The SABC was the platinum sponsor of PROMAX/BDA Africa 2012 and also sponsored one of the keynote speakers, as well as the category for Best Integrated Marketing Campaign.
