Berlin-based Flying Moon Film production (The Loneliest Planet, Havanna mi Amor, Full Metal Village) is looking for young talented South African filmmakers (18-30) to shoot a documentary film in the run-up to the World Skills 2013 Exhibition in Leipzig, Germany. Entries close 31 October 2012.
The production of the film is taking place from February to July 2013 and aims to create a unique transmedia documentary experience entitled Get Ready. Spanning across several media platforms, the final documentary film will be the result of a collective effort, with its premiere at World Skills International 2013 in front of an international audience. Director Peter Dörfler, (The Big Eden, Achterbahn), winner of the German Film Critics Award 2009, will artistically supervise the students).

Each selected team of students will receive €2000 for their research and a budget for the shooting of the footage. Additionally, the production house will cover all expenses for travel and accommodation. It is an opportunity for students to practice their skills and to get in contact with international professionals. There is also the potential for the final film to receive national TV exposure.

The South African team will work together with four other film teams from Brazil, Australia, Germany and South Korea. Their goal will be to document the life and work of a young person from their country in his/her journey to the World Skills 2013.
