Jaco du Plooy has joined Cape Town production company August as head of production. Jaco joined in April and brings over 10 years experience in production, with a solid background in motion and stills.
Most recently he was in charge of Nomad film productions for the past few years, where he helped launch young director Wim Steytler. Though he's done projects as diverse as music videos in Ibiza and car commercials on the French riveria. His most recent work was a brand video for wine estate Waterkloof.
August was formed in 2011 as a production company focused on creating online video content for brands. Founded by David Cope and Francois Botha, the company incorporates four key services: concept generation, video production, content distribution and tracking & analysis. Jaco is excited about joining August and the "online revolution."
Merging both the creative and production side of projects and using the latest in digital film capabilities, August produces quality and effective content at lower cost to client.
The company produces commercials, brand and product videos and is currently working with interactive video installations using the latest 3D camera technology and human-mapping software.
