Egg's rising star Verushka Vogt vs. animals, babies, and water

Issued by: Egg Films | 17 May 2012 10:07
"I must be mad," laughs Egg Films' Verushka Vogt. "I didn't realise what we'd taken on!"
Verushka filmed scuba diving, horses and babies as part of directing five hilarious Net#work BBDO spots for AA Insurance and a sweet Ogilvy Johannesburg advert for Huggies.

Conceptualised by the Net#work BBDO creative team of Rob Maclennan, Graeme Jenner, Este du Plessis and Angie Batis, the AA ads imagine a world where other industries function like insurance companies.

"The AA Insurance scripts were gems, just really well-written," says Verushka. "The hardest part was picking the funniest ones with the client and the agency."

Huggies is a performance piece about a scatter-brained, sleep-deprived mom, conceptualized by Ogilvy Johannesburg's creative team of Fran Luckin, Robyn Bergmann, Peter Little, Catherine Conradie, Philippa Heal and Tammy Retter.

"Hats off to moms," said Verushka. "I picked a couple of new mom's brains and it was scary to hear what people really do. Everything in the ad really does happen. We spent a lot of time working out what to include and exclude to get the balance right, as the spot needed to charm and entertain, not arouse concern for the safety of the child. "

AA - Horse

AA - Milk

AA - Scuba

Huggies - Sleepy Mom
