The team at Young Gun Films were privileged to work hand in hand with Francois van Coke on his latest music video for the song, My Hart, from the album, Hierdie is die Lewe.
The music video features Francois van Coke, Die Gevaar, Bellville, and special guest and Instagram star – Ringo van Coke.
The My Hart music video follows the story about a down-and-out musician whose beloved dog, Ringo, is kidnapped and held for the hefty ransom of R20,000. With Bellville as backdrop, the distraught musician embarks on a day-long adventure to reunite with his best friend. Selling his prized possessions in order to raise funds for the ransom.
The search leads him to the legendary watering hole in Bellville, Gringo’s, where the story reaches its climax and the protagonist performs a karaoke number in the hope of winning the final cash needed for the ranson. Hero and hound are reunited!
“My Hart is about my relationship with South Africa and the video actually has nothing to do with the song. I was looking for a reason to karaoke at our local bar, Gringo’s.” – Francois van Coke
A massive thank you to Francois van Coke for the opportunuty to work on this amazing project. And a special shout out to Red Bull Studios in Cape Town who made this music video possible.
*My Hart was directed by Robert J. Hannah and produced by Young Gun Films.
