Conceptualised by Bridge Marketing, produced by Luci Ferin Films and directed by Ses Semenya, the team were tasked with not only capturing the spirit of The Scarf
but had the opportunity to interpret and visually transform the lyrics whose inspiration was derived from the poet of "Qasidah Burdah" who had become paralysed and in this state of complete helplessness and despair began reciting this poem with complete devotion asking Allah Ta'alaa to cure him of this illness.
Mosese (Ses) Semenya, director at Luci Ferin Films commented, "I've always been fascinated with the ideologies and aesthetics of the Islamic faith and I never dreamed in a million years that I, an outsider, would be blessed with the opportunity to study, conceptualise, and film the iconic poem of The Scarf
and the talented, young artiste that brought it to life. We are proud of what the team has accomplished and trust we did the lyrics and locations justice."
The lyrics called for awe-inspiring locations and the Nizamiye Turkish Mosque in Midrand - a smaller replica of the Selimiye Camii mosque in Edirne, Turkey won hands down. The team was privileged to have had the opportunity to film within the walls of the first Ottoman-style mosque in the Southern Hemisphere with its shiny dome and four minarets reaching 55m into the sky, visible from the busy highway as one travels between Johannesburg and Pretoria - a sight to behold. The interior of the mosque is a visual feast, showcasing its Turkish descent.
The newly launched video is expected to feature across a number of broadcast stations over the coming weeks as highlighted below, so do keep an eye out.

"The journey upon my first official video was truly a majestic one. What made the journey an unforgettable experience was the team that accompanied me. The team at Luci Ferin Films served as an important beacon in my journey towards this goal. In producing this form of art I chose the title track of my album, The Scarf
as it played a pivotal role in my development as an Islamic singer and it was one of my first pieces of poetry. This journey was truly an unforgettable memory and I look forward to working with Luci Ferin Films in the coming future," concludes musician Mohamed.
