New management graduates from Arabella, Swiss School of Tourism

Sixty-three graduates of the 2010 Arabella Management Development Programme and the Arabella Supervisory Development Programme received their certificates from Friedrich Schaefer, COO of Arabella South Africa and Beat Wicki, CEO of the Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality, at a special awards ceremony hosted at the Westin Cape Town on Thursday 4 November 2010.

This is a joint venture training initiative between the Arabella Centre of Excellence, the training arm of Arabella South Africa and the Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality, an international hotel school based in Switzerland.

Internationally benchmarked training platform

Accredited and quality controlled by the Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality, the development programmes were introduced to provide the group with an internationally benchmarked training platform to develop future leaders and simultaneously provide employees with opportunities to develop within the organisation. The training enables graduates to work anywhere in the world.

Says Heineke Brand, the area HR manager of Arabella South Africa, "A highly skilled and committed workforce and a strong and strategically aligned culture are difficult to mimic and impossible to buy. Offering these programmes gives The Westin Cape Town a competitive edge in the highly competitive Cape Town hospitality market."
