The certification came into being nearly two years ago and has just been awarded to UCS Solutions for the second time. Since its conception, the process has become far more stringent and requires annual re-certification, but is only awarded to SAP partners with proven proficiency in selected solutions or industries, through demonstrating their relevant skills, certifications and experience.
"We successfully applied for the SAP Recognised Expertise in Retail certification in 2014 and are proud to announce we have been successful in our application a second time. This distinguishes us as experts in retail in the SAP world," said Reg Barry, Projects Executive of UCS Solutions. "The reality is that there are globally only 10 SAP partners that have this certification and we are the only one in Africa."
SAP's decision to award the certification was based on a large successful project done by USC Solutions and put forward for adjudication. One of the projects selected was the Cambridge Implementation Project. "The Cambridge Project was an implementation of a total SAP solution, which included financial and merchandising components as well as integration to the point-of-sale system," explained Barry.
SAP Recognised Expertise is an important credential that allows customers to identify qualified partners with proven SAP competency. The certification means that UCS Solutions will be listed as a retail specialist in the SAP Application Development Partner Directory for SAP Partners with recognised expertise, and that SAP will endorse UCS Solutions for applicable tenders/RFPs.
