Food that's good for your mood
Kauai has once again teamed up with 'expert' Dr Fill Yourself, from the Island of Kauai, to help South Africans improve their stress levels with Kauai's Good Mood Food.
This winter sees the introduction of an updated menu consisting of delicious warm meals designed to help stabilise moods and to increase those energy levels. Foods that fall into the Good Mood Food category are clearly marked on the menu with the Mood Food icon.
One of the new winter additions to the menu is the Chicken Parmesan Wrap; a tortilla filled with succulent bite size chicken pieces smothered in tomato and herb sauce and sprinkled with parmesan cheese. It is rich in Vitamin C to help you cope with stress and magnesium to aid muscle relaxation.
Kauai has also introduced the Soup and Sandwich Combo: a Princess Sandwich and a Soup of the Day.
The Soups of the Day come in a variety of flavours such as Roasted Root Vegetable, Chicken Zucchini or Chicken, Sweet Potato and Coconut Soup. The accompanying Princess Sandwich is filled with chicken mayo, avocado spread and feta, making it a great source of magnesium, folic acid and potassium to keep you feeling healthy and balanced.
The new Island Chicken Wrap is filled with tender chicken and brown rice, smothered in a pineapple and ginger sauce. It's an excellent source of magnesium and essential B vitamins to help you cope with stress and relax.
