Takealot.com adds liquor to its range

Online retailer Takealot.com has added a liquor category to its product range this week. The new liquor department launches with a strong range of spirits, MCC, champagne and sparkling wine.

Shoppers can browse and buy single and six-bottle cases of spirits and bubbly, from Jack Daniel’s, SKYY Vodka and Hendrick’s Gin to JC Le Roux, Veuve Clicquot and Moët & Chandon.

Commenting on the announcement, Takealot.coms head of retail, Didi Francis, said: “We are very pleased to launch this brand new category of popular liquor brands, expanding our product range to delight our customers and offering them more choice at the same great prices. Providing a fast, simple shopping experience is part of the Takealot's DNA and we believe the uptake from our customers will be very strong - especially via our mobile shopping app.”

Age verification

To promote responsible drinking and ensure alcohol products will not be delivered into the wrong hands, Takealot has introduced a strict sales and distribution practice for its online alcohol sales, checking age verification at point of purchase and working closely with delivery partners to ensure the same checks are put in place on each delivery.
