    Conference on 'Treating Customers Fairly'

    The Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals (SOCAP) will hold its annual conference at Johannesburg Country Club, Auckland Park on 22-23 August 2012 under the theme 'Treating Customers Fairly - the balancing act between corporate profitability and consumer protection'.

    Speakers promises to deliver real understanding of what has become a complicated landscape. These include Diane Terblanche, chairperson of the National Consumer Tribunal, who will reflect on the success of the Consumer Protection Act since it came into effect. She will share her view on the effectiveness of the current supporting processes and bodies and provide feedback to business around its role in the resolution of complaints by the National Consumer Commission and what it requires from businesses when resolving a dispute.
