Heavy Chef events returns to Cape Town with Dave Duarte on dark social media - book now!

Issued by: World Wide Creative | 20 Aug 2014 11:06
On 28 August 2014, Heavy Chef, the practical learning initiative by digital agency World Wide Creative will host online marketing expert Dave Duarte, talking on dark social media.
Returning to Heavy Chef, Duarte will uncover the marketing enigma that is dark social media. Covering some uncharted territory on the subject, Dave will explain how the web referrals that come from email and the myriad of instant messaging apps, affect site measurement and analytics in the long term.

Research continues to demonstrate that search engines and social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter are not wholly responsible for referrals, and that traffic generation is rooted in a series of wider networks that often go unnoticed. Dave's presentation will unpack how this works.

The event will be held at World Wide Creative's brand new venue in Woodstock and will mark the beginning of a series of events planned for Cape Town. To be a part of this iconic Heavy Chef occasion, go ahead and book your seat here.

What is Heavy Chef all about?

As an initiative of digital marketing agency World Wide Creative, the Heavy Chef project is a platform for practical learning - where South Africa's digital community collaborates, shares ideas and discusses the latest web marketing news. The name comes from the expression "Never trust a skinny chef" and our aim to learn from Heavy Chefs - in other words, those rare folk who eat their own food, walk the talk and practice what they preach.

Heavy Chef is sponsored by: Microsoft, Nokia SA, Backsberg Wines, Mobile Marketing Association and Channel Mobile.
